Designing the Argument

Bloomo is an adaptive communication ecosystem designed to support children with autism through communication, routines, and behavioral understanding. Developed as a thesis project, Bloomo explores how graphic design can create more inclusive and accessible visual communication systems that extend beyond traditional static tools like PECS. The system connects children, caregivers, and BCBAs through an integrated tablet and desktop experience that supports real-time communication, visual scheduling, emotional regulation, and data-informed intervention strategies. By combining adaptive interaction design, multimodal communication, and behavior-based insights, Bloomo aims to reduce frustration, improve everyday routines, and foster more meaningful connection and understanding across home, school, and therapy environments.
